Glacial geology in Rocky Mountain National Park can be seen from the mountain peaks to the valley floors. The Fern Lake trail passes Arch Rock formations, The Pool, and the cascading water of Fern Falls. Two backcountry campsites are located near the lake, and two more are closer to the trailhead.
