We explored the Niwot Ridge tundra plateau, speckled with wildflowers of every shape and color, looked down on the layered blue mountain ranges below, while snow-tipped peaks gazed at us from still-greater heights. While January isn’t typically busy, Murdock said that in December 2017, the park had 112,000 visitors.
