Beginning in Durango, the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway is a complete loop that will take you up to Silverton, along the Million Dollar Highway to Ouray, over to Placerville, south to Telluride, Dolores, Mancos, and back to Durango. The park's climate is also affected by the Continental Divide, which runs northwest to southeast through the center of the park atop the high peaks.
